The symbol of the Urban Platform is a recycled motorway streetlight mounted on a desk chair leg. It symbolises both the recycling and DIY aspect of our work, but also touches upon a larger story. In economy, the streetlight is often used to symbolise public goods: these are goods no one can be excluded from, and which can not be used up by one consumer, which makes them useless for the free market. The initiatives we take also create such public goods.
